What is sticky sender?
Last updated: March 26, 2026
Sticky sender is a feature that ensures when you text an individual from a specific sending number, all subsequent texts to that same individual will come from the same number. This creates message thread consistency by maintaining the same phone number for each contact throughout your conversation history.
Why would I turn off sticky sender?
One-off testing campaigns where number consistency isn't important
When you want messages to be distributed more randomly across your number pool or try to avoid sending using the same number to an individual
For specific testing or experimental messaging setups
How to disable sticky sender
Sticky sender is managed in "Organization Settings". You can see and manage all your phone numbers for a given organization as well as enable/disable sticky sender. By default organizations always have sticky sender enabled.
Once disabled, your messages will be distributed across your available sending numbers. This does not guarantee the same sending number will not be used on multiple occasions, but it does limit the occurrence.
How does inbox sending work with sticky sender off?
Recipients will always receive inbox replies from the most recent broadcast's sending number.
What if I want to turn sticky sender back on?
Moving forward your recipients will only receive messages from the most recent sending number used.
